There have been a few times in our life where taking an overdraft fee was fine because we were out of cash and in an emergency. Extra doctor bills for one. Food for the kids.

We were not out buying a fancy TV, just trying to get ahead. I actually find a lot of overdraft fees to be unjust. Punishing those that live on the edge or are unemployed.

Now, if you just bought a new car, a new tv, and spent all weekend at the poor, then yes overdraft fee for you. I wish we had a way to discern the difference between too many drinks and trying to keep the lights on and the kids bellies full.
