Regarding the drama comment, I agree people love watching drama unfold then talking about it. Thanks for the article!

That sounds like a great part time job to meet new people and earn a little extra cash. The skill set is very similar to what is required for being a stay at home mom… interesting. I guess it’s the same idea – someone who can be trusted to “hold down the fort” so to speak.

Sounds like a good pt job. A couple of absurdly rude front desk employees at a specific hotel (the Comfort Inn in Grain Valley, Missouri, if you're curious) ruined more than a decade of great work by other employees of the Choice hotels and chased us away as customers.
That's the exception, rather than the rule, of course. In general, front desk folks have been great to me, particularly with advice about the area - good restaurants, directions, etc.

I’ve never been at a hotel with a formal concierge, but the folks at the front desk can have a big impact on the quality of the stay, both in a positive and negative manner. I know someone that worked as a Concierge and made some really good money from tips. Heck, I can remember drunk nights where everyone is tipping the door man. You must make good money off the drunk fools.
Thanks for sharing so much with us Brian. Pretty soon you'll be writing about your new full time job- blogging.
