In Which I Give Thanks

This was a good week for FiscalGeek.  As you may or may not know I routinely participate in various “Carnivals”  centering around the Personal Finance world.  A carnival is a mechanism used to have various blog’s “host” the submissions of other bloggers on a personal topic.  Basically I submit my articles to these Carnivals and they do or do not post them on their sites and give a brief write-up of each entry.  They usually have themes which can be quite entertaining (if they ever approve me to host, hold on to your hat because I’ve got some stinking fantastic themes) and often include editor’s picks in which the host selects their favorite articles of the week.

This week I was featured in the Carnival of Personal Finance (Famous Money Quotes Edition) by none other than Bob Lotich over at http://www.christianpf.com .  On top of that he chose my story on How to Make Your Own Air Conditioner as one of his 3 editor’s picks out of the some 64 articles total hosted on the site.  This was a special moment for me because Bob’s site was the very reason that I decided to take the plunge into the blogging world.  All you have to do is look at his fancy picture and know that he’s a genuinely nice guy and great blogger.  Does make me wonder what’s going on in this picture, 2 possible scenarios:  His wedding or…Secretly he is a classically trained Pianist and was photographed preparing for his recent concert in which he played the Soundtrack from Top Gun on his Steinway.  I digress.

Anyways if you are a budding blogger yourself or just want to know more about it, I challenge you to find more useful information than is presented in his exhaustive post on “How to Make Money Blogging.” Thanks for reading and thank you Bob!

Congrats! It’s a great feeling to pass certain blogging milestones like this. And Bob’s story is an amazing, inspiring one. I hope to achieve even a quarter of his success someday! Ditto on his picture:)
